Light House collaborated with FORMAT Photography Festival and Derby QUAD to showcase some of the best emerging photographers and filmmakers from the East and West Midlands. Selected by a panel of judges, East Meets West features nine photographers and five filmmakers whose work fit the selected theme. From a documentary exploring strong women coping with alcoholic husbands in India to a fairytale hero conquering all evil, the exhibition explores all the complexities of the theme heroes.
The special one-off screening of East Meets West films will take place at 7pm on Fri 15 June only, but the photographic exhibition will continue until 31 August in Light House’s Balcony Gallery. Admission free.
